Logona Natural Cosmetics are Certified Natural under BDIH Standard

Logona Natural Cosmetics is one of the original supporters of the development of the BDIH certification standard in Europe, which adheres to a specific set of principles by which all products must be formulated. This BDIH certification assures the user of the high quality of Logona products.

TWIN LAKES, WI, August 26, 2009 /Wisconsin PR News/ -- The BDIH standard defines the use of the term "natural" in "natural cosmetics" through the standards they have set. The products must comply with these standards to bear the BDIH seal of approval. Manufacturers are required to submit their products to an independent laboratory for analysis in order to verify compliance.
Basic requirements include the use of botanical ingredients wherever possible, and in particular should be organically grown or wild-harvested. Consideration is given for alternatives based on quality and availability issues. No animal testing of either finished products or ingredients/raw materials is permitted for any ingredient new to the market since 1/1/1998. No ingredients are to be derived from vertebrate animals. Mineral ingredients are generally allowed with a few specific exceptions. Emulsifying agents and surfactants can be used if they are obtained by specific allowed processes from natural botanical sources. Totally unacceptable are synthetic coloring agents, synthetic fragrances, ethoxylated ingredients, silicones, paraffin and other petroleum products. Only preservatives that are natural preservation systems or identical to those found in nature are permitted. Irradiation of natural ingredients and the finished products is prohibited. All products bearing the BDIH seal must comply with independent laboratory testing at a designated third party laboratory to ensure equality of review and compliance standards.
The BDIH recommends adherence to the following additional criteria including full ingredient disclosure, avoidance of GMO-ingredients, environmental responsibility in the use of packaging, raw materials and manufacturing, and social responsibility regarding employees and 3rd world suppliers by adherence to Fair Trade principles.
Logona has adopted the BDIH standard as the basis for its leadership in the world of natural cosmetics and personal care products.
